was bored at work today, so i got a few more aftermarket part numbers...including locking fuel caps which may be kinda important these days.

all numbers are stant which is available at all the generic el cheapo parts stores

radiator caps for 69-85 land cruisers ....leve-r-vent 10329, regular cap 10229

i could only get into the major listing on the vintage vehicles...so, the rest are based on the year vehicle listed. every one i looked up listed part number 10080 as the oil cap.

04 gx470
locking fuel cap 10509

97gx450 rad caps lev-r-vent 10327, regular 10227 (13psi)
thermostat 14128 (180), seal 25283
fuel caps regular 10825 locking 10595

73 land cruiser thermostat 13548 (180) gasket 25189, seal 25259
heater core 9306

2004 land cruiser rad cap leve-r-vent 10333 regular 10233
thermostat 14128 (180), seal 25283
fuel cap reg 10834 locking 10504

87 land cruiser thermostat 13549 (195), gasket 25189, seal 25259
fuel cap regular 10806 locking 10583
83 land cruiser didn't list a locking cap, but listed the same regular cap, so should use the same locking cap

I've got a 10806 non locking on my 74, 40. Been running them for 18ish years. Going to try a 10583 locking cap to see if it'll work on the second tank which has a Landcruiser filler neck and a 10806 currently.

I bought Stant locking gas caps for my '78 and found that while the locking gas cap worked just fine, it did however keep the factory door from closing,

Can you confirm the part number?

Eventually, once I get to redoing the 1/4s with steel, I'll have a factory door on the auxiliary tank. For now, I'm wanting something that'll deter punks from mucking with it.

How close was it? I see three options...
1) Modify the sheet metal to make more space to the door.
2) Space the filler tube down with a metal (or _____) spacer to create an extra 3/4" of depth.
3) Trust the factory cover to deter punks.

22 us gal is over $100 to fill here :crybaby:

Picked up a Gates 31671 locking gas cap. It fit the 74 and 75 filler tubes perfectly. I was told that Gates is the Parent company of Stant.
As bsevans pointed out, the Stant/Gates caps stick out too far to use with a stock door. I'd estimate, that it sticks out 1/2" too far.

Here are the cross reference for other manufactures for the Stant 10583.
Part Number 10583
Product Type Regular Locking Fuel Cap

CARQUEST 35040
Gates 31671
Gates Canada 31671
