Ln130 tapping sound only during acceleration? (1 Viewer)

In the ongoing story of owning a ln130, my engine developed a tapping sound only during acceleration. It sounds like it’s coming from the turbo or at least that side of the engine. Could it be a exhaust manifold leak or maybe the wastegate ? Any ideas

That's the first thing that came to my mind. Have a look carefully for soot around the area of manifold, turbo, downpipe etc. from a possible leak.

If it were something internal to the motor, it would likely be making noise all the time.

I actually had a bit of soot on my oil filter which is right below my manifold so I’ll pull the turbo off this weekend and check the manifold bolts. Maybe something came loose after the rebuild
