In my conversion I kept the A343F from the LJ78 with the bell housing and T/C from the Hilux surf donor. I looked at transplanting the engine and gearbox from the Surf but the transfer cases are different and it looks like the rear housing on the gearbox is different so it wasn’t just a case of swapping over the transfer case.
I can’t say 100% but based on my experience you would need the A343F from a KZJ7X if that’s the route you want to go down.
