I have been searching high and low for a replacement temp sensor for my LJ78 2LTE.

As per the part numbers - 89422-20010 and 89422-35010, they are all 2 Pin connectors.

The current sensor is only a 1 Pin connector. That said, my Gauge connector is also 1 Pin and have been replaced with a new sensor today (83420 in image below).

I also have a Thermo Temp Switch sensor that is broken. After some reading, it seems this sensor relates to the A/C. Is this correct. Part numbers are 88790-60050 / 88790-22060.

Coming back to the temp sensor, 1 Pin. I take this is a power input and the housing acts as a ground? Saying that, can I convert the 2 pin in this way and just ground the sensor?

Is the 89422-20010 and 89422-35010 also the ECU Temp Sensor? As per below image, there are no sensor below the manifold - All sensors are located in the thermo housing (3 x sensors in total).

Will appreciate your wisdom :)

Nice. That is the one I have replaced today.

I will take them out tomorrow in daylight. However the first and second photo is what seems to be the temp sensor. I had it out today and looks similar to the 2 x Pin connecter I bought, except that the current one is only a 1 Pin connector.

The third photo is what I believe is the thermo switch. The connector cap came off...

Regarding the photos above and some further reading, it seems that the 1 Pin sensor may be the fan sensor?

Thank you @ToyotaMatt

The 1 Pin sensor does seem to be a match. Do you know if this is the temp sensor linked to the ECU?

I take this one is an alternative sensor to the 1Pin connector as I do not have a sensor like this on the thermo housing OEM GENUINE NipponDenso / DENSO 3FE PLUG and PLAY Repair KIT OE Sensor, sender Water Temperature (For E.F.I.) 89422-20010 Fits 88 -92 FJ62 FJ80 USA & Canada Spec. - VintageTEqParts.com - https://vintageteqparts.com/collections/electrical/products/copy-of-oem-toyota-gage-assy-water-temperature-sender-83420-fits-88-90-fj62-usa-canada-spec

Thank you for all the feedback. Greatly appreciated!
