Hello All,
It might be that the calble operated heater valve in my vehicle be leaking.
I can find similar heater valves for 4runner/tacomas etc. only thing is the coolant direction of travel.
In the attached pic, the coolant travels from left to right, probable you can make out the arrow showing the direction of coolant flow.

The valves for 4runners have their arrow in the other direction,
Can I still use the 4runner valves,
What negative effects would i have?
Thank you.

Resurrecting an ancient thread here, but I am up against the same issue. Any ideas?

The only problem would be ,off would on and on would off. Or can the 4runner valve be turned around so the flow is in the same direction? I would get a used valve from 4Runner and try it. You could also have a look at Toyota cars, they all use something similar.
The biggest problem is probably going to get the cable to work properly

I actually found what Rummat81 did in another thread: HDJ81 Heater Control Valve

I did a cable operated heater valve replacement this summer.
the coolant goes from driver to passanger side.
the part no for my prado is 87240-60100 and i was able to fit a American 93' Camry water valve without problems, direct fit. It cost about 15-20 dollars.

There you go. Use a '93 Camry valve!!

Fantastic! Thanks! It looks like the Camry valve is identical, it just installs upside down.
