Hi

Can anyone tell me what the heater matrix on the LJ78 (2.4td 1993) is made of?
Is it brass and copper or aluminium and plastic?
Mines leaking, I can get a recore done if its copper, but plastic/alu is a problem.
To take it out is a major undertaking, especially if its then non-repairable - so need a bit of info to help me decide plan of action.

Regards
Pete

Some will tell you that the heater core is made from recycled cracked heads on the 2L-TE but I suspect that is not true.:)

Well, they left the crack in mine, but carefully sealed it with light duty tissue paper.

The part number I'm asking about is 8710790K04

Toyo dont know as they havent been produced for a loooong time, the last guy that saw one retired some years back.....

Give it a day or two and you will probably receive "real" information from some of the Forum regulars who own garages and have dealt with 70 Series Cruisers.
Good luck.....1978HJ45

Matrix... that's a movie.

The rad and heater core are made of Brass, which is an alloy.

Keanu Reeves, Laurence Fishburne and the rest of the Matrix crew would be thrilled that you remembered.:)
