LJ70 and Hilux compatibility ?

Hey guys,
I'm located in Canada, with an 1989 imported LJ70 2.4 Turbo Diesel from Europe, I heard that the Hilux sold in Canada had the same engine, could someone enlighten me about this? I'm just wondering if they share similar parts,

FJ and BJ had the larger Landcruiser running gear...

yes mate, use the same engine...

...if you can found more information because the 4Runner here in Europe use the 2.4 Turbo Diesel Engine 2L-T, after change for a 1KZ-T engine 3.0 Turbo Diesel.
