They are the typical "offroad use" lights. At the end of the day it's all common sense really. I've used them on roads when there was no one else about but they aren't meant to replace your regular lights... They are quite powerful! Does it help?

Question: How fast do they ignite? I know some HID's have a brief warm up period.

It's pretty standard for HID to have a warm up period, these are no exception. They'll lit up right away and increase to full power within 5 seconds.

Wire tem such that they are triggered by the highbeam circuit.

The BC Motorvehicle Code allows the use of one pair of fog lights and one pair of driving lights.
I am illegal twice. I have 2 pair of each.

As it stands, I have them wired on a 3 way switch: ON, OFF or triggered by HIGHBEAM. I haven't used them with the highbeam switch with traffic as I thought switching them on/off too often could reduce the lifespan of the bulbs? But to be honest, they have less than a 10 hours of use so pretty much like new.

Me need to look at the BC Motor Vehicle Code as well...
;)

Not illegal provided they are mounted & adjusted as per the MVA...for anyone that does not want to read it!

I should clarify that one of the lights is actually brand new still in the box while the other one as mentioned has less than 10hrs of use. I'm keeping the Amber filter lens for my other set but I'm including a new set of clear combo filter ($30 option). I'm also keeping the locks for them and I'd suggest you either tackweld the nuts, locktite or buy the locking nuts like I did from LightForce so your lights don't walk away on you in the middle of the night...

Yes, 12v.

I had mine hooked onto my 3rd (12v) battery. I also have a 50 amps SolarConverter battery equalizer/converter that I could sell if that helps! ;)

I have the 240 blitz (non HID) on my truck and they are great, huge light output. If the 170's are anything like them they are well worth the money.

You can convert them to 24V with two light bulbs IIRC they are $10 each. Wait not HID though sorry.
