I'm wanting to put a push in/out switch in the vertical location the the left of the steering wheel. Do I pry the little plastic piece out forward or push it in? Do I need to cut it. Can it be done without pulling the lower dash apart? Sorry if this is a dumb question. Did a search but couldn't find something that showed or explained how to do it, just that guys did it.

That lower dash trim piece comes out fairly easily. First remove the black trim piece that houses the dimmer (it just pulls out), then a few screws and a few compression clips allows the "top" of that piece to tilt down to access the area of your interest. Just tilt it so you don't have to mess around with the fuel and hood release mechanisms.

By doing so, you can get to the backside of that switch cluster with ease (instead of the method you are attempting).

Just my 2 cents.

Thanks. I'll go attempt.

Thanks for the help. I got it.
