I got a 82 FJ40 with 200k miles. It runs pretty good, but seems a little tired. No smoke coming out the pipes. Where should I start? Do the basic engine tune-up and check compression in the cylinders or have the carb checked out. It does smell a bit rich on the exhaust burn. With the Fariey Overdrive, it's driveable as it is for now, i just want it stronger. I was wanting to do a mild lift on it too, but can figure the right way to go. Any suggestions would help me bunches.

I'd check out the engine real good before spending money on it. A Toyo eng may just be broken in at 200K. Depends on maintenance.
