Lifetime of plastic T heater hose connector??

I used the brass/metal ones and the leaked. I don’t think the hoses bond to the metal as well. Went back to the OEM plastic.
 
Did the Ts on my 2000 at 180k in 2020....the old ones were like new...I hit them with a hammer and they held up...same as the new oem.

Did the Ts on the 1999 Lx470 with 220k this year(last month)....one looked like new....other crumbled into pieces...forget which was which

Both have had the received the same maintenance(all oem stuff) since 70k and 110k(2004 or so) Only difference is the 2000 had a new OEM radiator installed at 95k when the dealer put a hole in the original when doing timing belt.
 
I've now done 4 timing belt jobs on 3 different 100 series and not a one of them had any evidence of deterioration. I'd continue to do it on every future job as I believe it's wise maintenance, I just haven't seen a worn tee yet.
