Hi,
I just replaced the rear wheel cylinders on my Toyota Hiace H50 which I bought used 2 years ago. There was a lot of rust inside the cylinders explaining why they did not work properly anymore.
Question:
1. Is the rust (or leaking cylinder) solely a result of infrequent brake fluid changes? In other words: If the brake fluid had been changed sufficiently often I would never have had a leaking/rusty wheel cylinder? Or is the wheel cylinder subject to rust/leaks etc no matter how well you treat it?
