i was thinking he was talking a turbo BJ73...

Oh, I wouldn't be as excited about that. I did run a BJ70 normally aspirated for a long time with 35s though. A turbo should be good for at least a couple of inches of rubber.

i ran a NA 3B with 35s on a 42 for years... might as well ditch the 5th gear on anything but flat or down hill... the slightest uphill and you were down to 4th...
a turbo would have been real nice...

Actually if I would of thought about it, I know the answer as the big white 60 with 37s naturally aspirated actually hauled quite nicely.

Louis, he is talking in HIGH range... you know that truck of yours can't do highway speeds...LOL!!

I run 36 X13 Super swampers on my HZJ79 turbo intercooled with no problems - but the EGT's do climb quicker than with my 33's:) Fifth gear is no problem at any time - running 4.30's

4.30s hu, I was thinking about 4.88s, wonder what gears Bruce is running?

With 4.88's and the gearing in my truck it would be revving very high at highway speeds even with the 36's, if it was 4.88's and 33 inch tires it would be a bad combo for highway but very very low for off-road - and too low for anything around here - that would be for serious rock crawling type stuff. The first gear is almost un-useable in this thing out of the factory.

i run 4.56s with the PZJ70 and 36" tractor tires.
i also run 4.11s with 35s and a PZJ70
i ran 3.70 with 33 skinnies pulling 3000 lbs from Calgary to Ontario with a 1 HZ turbo...

all run fine both at highway speeds and off road.
if you want fuel economy then 3.7 with 33s is almost perfect. 4.11s is a nice balance for off and on road. 4.56 is nice off road and if you have 5th then on road is acceptable...
