I swapped the backup light bulb for a halogen bulb, which helped. But I'd still like more light. Been contemplating installing a wide beam halogen light somewhere in the rear. Likely the existing wiring would not handle the current, so I'd probably have to run a heavier gauge feed wire and a relay.

I'd be interested in what other FJ40/55 owners have done for wiring and any pics of their setup.
 
I use a tractor floodlight. Rubber coated cover and very tuff.
I also installed an over ride switch so as to be able to turn it on
without using reverse. The switch is operated via a red covered
lockout so as to not accidently blind someone behind me.
I must say when the car behind you won't dim those brights
a short flash of that flood light up ahead seems to work. :grinpimp:
Any farm supply has them. They are about 4 or 5 inches across
and use 12 volts.

I like your rear mounted winch. What model did you install?
