I emailed them about bringing austrilian/ JDM diesel Cruisers to Canada

    this is there reply

    Dear Mr. Winkworth:

Thank you for your recent correspondence.

"We would like to explain that market trends are closely studied to give us a
better idea of what vehicles are in demand. Then based on our findings, our
Product Planning department is able to choose those vehicles that best suit the
needs of the buying public. We recognize, of course, that these choices may not
meet the needs and fulfill the desires of all potential customers.

However, your interest in and positive comments regarding the Land Cruiser have
been noted and forwarded to our Product Planning department for their
    information and future consideration.

Thank you again for taking the time to write.

    Sincerely,

    James McWade
    Toyota Canada Inc. "

So everyone should email them on webpage and get them to bring diesel cruisers to canada I know I would buy one fer sure.

Can you imagine walking onto the local Toyota lot and seeing a line of LC78 Troopies and Ute's?

somebody correct me if i am wrong.
my understanding is all the Land Crusiers we see on our roads after 1988 have to be imported through Toyota USA. hence the disappearence of the diesel in the same year.
i do beleive that is the reason Toyota Canada does not offer the diesel cruisers here.
anybody know if this is correct?
    cheers

It is my understanding that in 1988 the DOT EPA and crash test laws standardized for all of Noth America. Hense you guys stopped getting the long wheelbase samurai, the Renault diesel powered Jeep Cherokee, and the diesel land cruisers. Among other vehicles that Im not aware of Im sure.

Let's face facts people, Toyota doesnt care about us! We have to many stupid laws, regulations and limitations, along with ONLY having 325,000,000 million people that they can sell to.

Why bother with us at all?

Frankly we're probably lucky to have any vehicles sold here at all.

P.S., why you guys never got the FJ/FZJ80's I have no idea. Well, except for the fact that you Canadians dont know how to have SEX, and cant procreate. What's up with you guys. The second largest land mass in the world and only 25 million people. GET TO IT WOULD YOU!

    :D

Since we beat you guys to the same sex marriages and de-criminalized marijuana, we have to rely on immigration to help maintain our population. I notice a lot of Jettas around, what does that mean?

I live in Canada for a reason, I hate the American government, I think its great you guys re ellected GB that just goes to show how good you really are at having sex, your so good you fuwked yerself!!!

I agree with Wayne it seems to me it really is a consperacy. I also think part of the reason they sent back a response like is because they just wanna make me happy, truth is I think Toyota is the best car manufacturer in the world, but I won't ever buy anything from them, but a diesel Land Cruiser and I also know if they where in Canada I would be the first person to be there financing or getting a 80, 000 $ loan for the most Tricked Out 78 Munster ever!!! Or whatever it may be.

One last thought I always think, how do you market a Truck that will pretty much last forever if maintained properly? I think the answer for north America is you don't. It's funny everytime a family member brings by one of there new over priced under engineered bubbles. I just always think, I would rather be in my big metal box then a big plastic bubble.

As for what about you guys in US, what about you? I am sure you could import Canadain ones, or you could just move up here before you die from smoke inhalation!!!

UP HERE WHERE THE AIR IS CLEANER

yep, most cruiser owners get to bag the crap out of the trucks and then sell them to the state boys who fight tooth and nail to get what they through away...
mind you, there are a few of us that will treat the State boys fair...not many but a few...
