Purchased the LED conversion from Pfran. Looks like I need to fab a mounting surface to mount it in my LX450. Anyone have a description or pics of how they mounted the LEDs in their map light. I have tried searching but all I find are for the early 80s in which the map light housings are constructed differently.
Any and all advice appreciated, Thanks, Jim

I have a '97 LC and used extra double sided tape to mount the map light from Pfran. Not sure if my setup is different than yours, might be able to tell if you have a picture handy.

I used tape as well. Then it gave way and is currently resting on the lens. It still works though lol!

I used a small piece of lean (semi rigid plastic would work) and stuck the LED square to that, then used one of the mounting screws to hold the lexan square in place.

When I used some generic LED square panels, I used some of this 3M VHB double-sided tape (amzn.com/B0016HGFXW) that some engineer friends recommended. It's ridiculously strong and I haven't had any issue with the panels unsticking.

Like stated, 2x sided tape.

I have the retail pack of a kind we use in petro refineries, mainly for PID's added into 'old work' systems yet needed to be held long term.

I'll edit my post when I get in the shop in the morning, it's got a red membrane in the middle & seems a 3M product. Not cheap but a 'fix once, fix right' -tape.

EDIT - It's got red backing, but is all clear tape, 2# hold strength meant for perm sticking.

No glaring product code, might be 3M 4010 vhb -red backer card w/ red divider tape - had a roll in house toolbox. --It sticks like a mother!--

2X EDIT - found it quickly, but in bulk. Amazon may have singles.
3M 4010 Indoor Mounting Tape - 1" x 60" S-17637 - Uline
