Wondering if these are easy fixes. The radiator hose is leaking all over my brand new alternator. Not hitting the belts which is good

This is an easy fix huh? Wondering about the hose on the engine cover too, what it is possibly? Looks like its leaking a little.

Yeah, you'll lose a little fluid, but no need to drain the radiator. That intake hose looks sketchy...

I assume this is a diesel?

Definitely dodgey. Looks like a lot of that rubber tubing is on its last legs. Mechanic said he would change radiator hoses next service, after fixing my miniscule oil leak underneath (oil pump seal/gasket I think).

I'll change what I can see is leaking, thanks for the info on losing coolant etc. Was hoping it would be simple

na Petrol

Hose on engine cover is the pcv valve
Looks like rubber quite old on that too, why I was questioning whether that as well it’s obviously leaking

Well it is a 1FZ after all comes with factory rust protection

BTW the hose it self should have two clamps just like the one next to it, and that intake tube is a common failure point I bet its cracked under that patch (although these seems to be no maf sensor so it doesn't really mind about it)

Fixed . Seems to start easier now. Lost a little compression? The new hose appears to be slightly smaller diameter

After some digging it appears like this leak might be as serious as the radiator hose. Looks as if the valve or grommet might actually be the issue, not the hose.

Any second opinions on this one @01gxr - looks like oil to me around the base. This is only supposed to release fumes / gases I thought.

Would certainly explain why my exhaust smells slightly rich , and I'm filling up the oil regularly.

Common oil leak areas on the 1fz is the rear main seal, valve cover seal, spark plugs seals ( pull out a spark plug check if it or its cable is covered in oil), and pcv valve and in some cases even piston rings can leak into the pistons ( which happened to me at around 200k km when it fails you will see a lot of smoke coming out of the exhaust pipe under load)

@ 270,000 kms I'm thinking those things are definitely worth checking out. Huge thanks
