Re-Booted both axles on my 2000 Land Cruiser. While reinstalling the CV axles, replaced the seals. The one on the RH was fine as it only goes in so far and then sets against the casing. Much to my surprise on the LH side, there is no ridge or spacer to stop the seal from going in too far. When reinserting the LH axle, must have hit the seal with the axle and pushed it in some. The result was lots of leaking. When I took everything apart again, sure enough the seal had been pushed in and thus no longer sealing. Question? Should there be a "stop" of some sort the the seal rests against to keep it from going in too far? Where does the seal really go?
