Leaking EGR after desmog (1 Viewer)

Good morning I have a 84 FJ60 and I have removed the egr from the exhaust system. I have a cut off plate with a factory gasket over the old port. The issue is the factory gasket keeps leaking. Any suggestion on another gasket or seal compound to uses. The gasket is breaking down because it is getting to hot.

Try using the orange hi-temp RTV?

Unless the block off plate has a center plug like shown in the picture below, the gasket will blow eventually.

Jim C sells these, works great. A plate just warps...learned the hard way

Almost 20K miles on my desmog using the above block off plate with plug from Jim C with no leaking so far.

The oem PCV tube and egr pipe can be modified by cutting and capping the egr side pipe... bolts right up
