whats the best advice for a little cosmetic rehab? Im planning on using my stock leafs in this picture. I was going to pull them off and paint
1. Should I paint as whole unit after some wire brush work
2. Pull them a part have them blasted and painted

If your going to do any work on them, I would pull them apart, inspect, replace the pins, and install new clamps. repaint and put back together with dry graphite.

^^^ that’s solid advice! I wasted (or worked on) rehabbing mine over the course of two days.

Heat keeper clamps, bend open, remove center pin, wire wheel, wipe down with degreaser, paint with slip-plate (or your preferred graphite based paint), reassemble with new pins (rancho sells one that works great), reheat keeper clamps, bend back over then repaint entire pack with your favorite black spray paint.

Or...buy a set of new packs and be done!
