Hi guys,
Thanks for all your advice last night!

One thing i took away is that flat leafs are BAD!

I mentioned that to a buddy and he said he knows two places that can reshape the springs.

Anyone have any experience with this? Is it advisable?

Thanks!

If you're not planning on going much bigger on tires right now, it can't hurt. I had a set done at Weaver Leaf and Spring in Dallas a long time ago on a Suburban I used to have. They re-arched them and put in a long add-a-leaf. I know Cool Cruisers used to do that a lot too. I'm pretty sure they used the same place.
I'd price it out and then call Jacque at Toyota of Dallas and ask him how much a set of Dakar springs for the 60 are going for. Tell him you're an LSLC member.

I think its just as easy to save and buy new.Cruisers weigh 5,700 # just my 2 cents. Mike

It is an inexpensive solution to replacement. I had a set done at a place off mockingbird and Harry Hines a couple of years ago. About $100 per axle. If you are not going for monster tires or hard core rocks, it's a viable alternative. I will try to find the name of te place....shoot me a pm if you are interested.

Thanks guys. Ill do some research in pricing when I'm ready to pull the trigger. Without looking I'm assuming the Axles are attached to the leafsprings with ubolts and. Not welded.
