We're on another big build but instead of the usual LC250, GX550, LX700h builds, we are working on a sweet 200 Series. When it's finished I'll post up better photos but I'm pretty excited about it and wanted to share it now. :) 74Weld portals, 74Weld 17" beadlocks, 40" tires, Dissent Off-Road front and rear bumpers, roof rack etc etc. It came in already supercharged and running King bypass shocks. It's wild.

I made the decision to show some restraint and leave it at 38s, but I'm curious how much more cutting will be required for 40s. Is it getting a body mount relocation? Front fender looks pretty trimmed up--is it being left like that or getting flares? Body lift at all too?

Pretty sure it requires a lot more trimming to go to 40s. Honestly, 38s are awesome. We tend to put them on a lot of our builds and our own vehicles. 40s generally put you into another level of wealth and commitment. lol

I know they cut a lot but I'm not sure of body mount relocation and such. The fenders will get cleaned up and we'll likely work in some sheet metal to clean up the inside of the wheel well. We did something similar on our LC250 build on 40s and the LC100 on 38s. I'll keep you posted. :)

Another beast in the making. Looks like KDSS got deleted?

Patagonia's look tasty. Been looking at them as they have more aggressive sizes beyond what the mainstream has.

RE 38s, I don't see major fender cutting or body mount relocation necessary at that size. 40s yes. But 38 should have enough clearance provided high offsets are used as per 74welds recommendation. With lower suspension lifts (letting portals do the lifting), that puts suspension geometry back in a good place with caster so that it maximizes clearance against the body mount.

Yes. And the Patagonia XTs are interesting. They don't look like much but they have a 3ply sidewall and the tread depth is excellent. The tread block spacing is small but that made them work REALLY well in snow this past season on Ben's LC250. He could just keep slowly spinning the tires when stuck and they would eventually find grip. If we do that on our MTs we would dig and sink. He's keen to test them out on Rubicon this summer.

Between you guys and Dimi there must be something in that nor cal water!!

Ah, snow wheeling. Portals are the ticket!

For the person who owns a set. For us poors it's tougher because the portal guys leave a huge mound of snow in between their tire tracks and we have to plow through it. Damn that portal clearance. lol

LOL, true.

Any more details regarding the KDSS delete? Running no sway bars at all or were some aftermarket ones fitted?

Rest-of-world 200s had trims without KDSS. You can replace with an OEM non-KDSS swaybar.

I thought there were different attachment points on non-KDSS vehicles that made it slightly more difficult than sourcing and swapping swaybars? I also noticed there appears to be no front sway bar at all so just curious what’s happening here. Any more info @JWNissan ?

I run XT's on our Sprinter and Bronco, and both got over 40k on their first sets. Zero complaints with them.

Love the 40's and portals. Curious to how the 74Welds hold up long term, I know the buggy guys are breaking them (bearing problems)

Nice! We haven't put many miles on them yet but we'll be trying them and the AT Pro on a few other rigs.

The portals are holding up well on the LC250 which gets a lot of abuse and we haven't had any issues on customer rigs but they don't punish them like buggy folks. LOL Hopefully they work out long term.
