LOL, they are hilarious sleds, I just hand them out to my friends and family and we have a blast. Last year went to my camp with 6 elans and a bunch of other newer sleds, 3 elans broke and we scavenged one to make the others run. They were all twins and are pretty fun. Put them on a windy single sled trail at midnight with a dozen beer in you and it makes for interesting times. My buddy has a Yamaha Viking 540 with 20 inch wide track, we can put 3 adult guys on it (ok not Wayne size guys - but skinny guys like me) and still beat the elans though - leaning is important.

This statement in Graham Jackson's Africa Overland Journal is enough for me. Considering the repairs necessary on the 110s for this trip...its a no brainer.

"Our cars, whatever we choose, will most certainly break down at some point in the trip. There are recorded trans-Africa trips with no breakdowns, but these are mostly in Toyota Land Cruiser BJ75s"

Awesome quote!
I didn't even know that a bj75 existed. Great alternative to speeding tickets....

I keep my eyes open for a 75 troopy here. Some day. Some day.

Saw one today w/ ARB bullbar, lifted (I assume OME), some lights, a snorkel, 33" mudders.

Great looking truck!
