You need to head over to the International Cruiser Tech section - they have muliple threads on this very topic. More than you ever wanted to know - the answer is probably not however (unless you have lots of money or an inside registered importer in CA).

seller is SO wrong, he says "A similar vehicle recently sold on eBay for $16,780. (1987, 34K miles, BJ73, Item # 2452938560) "

not all that similar..well sorta, they are both land cruisers ;)

Bringing a canadian BJ70 into the US is not to hard.

his reserve is at least not WAY out of whack, reserve on this truck is $7650.00. looks like a 4-5k truck to me, rust, stolen, ect.

This truck might belong to a guy that I work with. He's had one for sale for awhile now.

Generally he's had pretty poor luck with it. The rust is pretty bad ect...

I'll ask tomorrow regardless as I'm curious.

He used it as a DD and some highway, gravel, logging roads ect...
I doubt much off-roading at all.

A few things like alternator, regulator, starter, glow plugs ??? have failed over the psat year and he was getting tired of it.

It runs the 24volt starter system ect.... He's not a cruiser buff and I doubt would do lot's of DIY PM. So a truck like this would give him some grief.

The thing I don't like is the rust.

If people are interested in this sort of rig I can find out more and likely get a pretty good deal as I'm sure he's sick of trying to sell it for the past 6 months.

The one noted above is in Toronto. Is your friend based in TO? Based on the picture, it looks to be in quite good shape.

Hugh - Sorry I didn't read it carefully. He was in Vancouver. In the picture it does look pretty good but thought it could have been patched up.

I found out he sold it a few months ago for like $7,000 CDN. The trouble spots weren't that bad, just alternator and reg ect.... nothing major if you are into fixing cruisers.

    Not his thing.
