Since the driveline is on a pallet still it was super easy to get this guy off the poor old motor stand

The clearance is so close here to get a fan clutch into a pre-78 FJ55. @cruiseroutfit helped me work out the measurements for my pig but I forgot I also had to trim the Tacoma fan.

We ordered a fan shroud weeks ago and it turns out it’s a FJ60 shroud. The very good vendor is getting me one out today. I’ll do the 1/2 shell mod to it when it gets here and keep moving forward.

It looks glorious!

Had to go get some 5/8” heater hose and 3/8” for the PCV. All is plumbed.

I had to go look at my Pig just to confirm how close this fan is but to get that fan clutch in there is so nice.

I test fit the Delco compressor and it fits fine in there. The FJ60 connecting pipe puts the water inlet in a perfect spot for the lower radiator inlet. It’s a bit forward of the stock 60 location so I had to make a small bracket for the rubber isolator

That’s a wrap. Tracking had the trans/transfer arriving today but as seems to be these days it’s a no show. I’ve got lots to do and Monday for that is fine.

Wow, beautiful. Real nice fer shure! Would you mind slinging some oil on a fender or act like you're breaking a sweat so that the hacks among us can relate.
I’ve had my share of hiccups on this one but having lots of parts around here to steal has allowed me to keep rolling.

Looks much better with the 2F. Pretty sure my '77 doesn't have a fan clutch. Is the advantage that you aren't pulling the HP when you don't need the fan running or is there more to it than that?

I did it on mine to reduce the noise coming off the engine. That fixed blade fan works fine but it’s loud.

Since I had done it and it works then we went ahead and shoe horned one into this one.

The 78-79 FJ55 had a fan clutch but the radiator is wider and narrow in that model.

Lot of work to go back to that tractor motor, sure does look nice though  My favorite swap I’ve done was a desmogged 3FE in a 40, I assume these run similar with the upgrades and sniper?

Tucker
Yes with a much more simple setup. No big computer. No mass air flow. All the things that make a 3FE annoying is gone and in this little package

This fan clearance is almost 1” closer than my FJ55 after a good look this morning.

I banged my head over and over trying to find what the difference between the two setups are.

After about 10 trips back and forth between the two trucks it finally dawned on me that the Warthog has FJ40 motor mounts and the Limo has FJ60 mounts.

I had one of the small mounts here and snuck it into the drivers side mount and the motor shifted rearward putting the motor at an angle. That’s the ticket. Gotta get the smaller mounts for the Limo before I go forward with the rest of the driveline install. I’ve got a pair inbound for Tuesday.

@nvrlose54 came by and picked up the Goodwrench 350 that the Limo spit out and I loaded up a pallet with the 4speed/case and some other stuff to deliver to the Rounduo for @orangefj45 to bring back to life for someone

There was a fox hunt here today and I saw a Heritage that was tugging horses as well.
