MESA, AZ October 31, 2016: After initially announcing three events that ladies could qualify to participate in for the Ladies Co-Driver Challenge, the annual trade-only SEMA Show was added to the Ladies Co-Driver Challenge as a fourth event. Although not a driving event, the two ladies chosen to be part of the Bower Media team as Charlene Bower’s assistants are Kristie Moore and Leigh Singleton.

“There is a lot of work that needs to be done at SEMA and there is a lot of amazing opportunities that only present themselves at SEMA. This is one of the harder weeks of our business year and I look forward to being able to give these ladies the opportunity to participate in the challenge with me. At the same time, it is also one of the most fun weeks of the year with the amazing events, networking and vehicles to see,” said Charlene Bower, Owner of Bower Media. “Both of these ladies have a connection to a segment of the industry: Leigh as an author of a book with a Jeep as the main character and Kristie recently taking over the manager position at her husbands off-road shop. They are both excited to be at the show, but we all know that the real challenge will be keeping up with me for five days!”

The ladies will have multiple business challenges presented to them. Jobs will include taking pictures, helping with Bower Power Hour interviews, helping with distribution of information, sitting in on 2017 planning meetings, and being a testament to the Ladies Co-Driver Challenge and Ladies Offroad Network programs. We will be in attendance at multiple SEMA Buinesswoman’s Network (SBN) events, helping with BFGoodrich Tires Pit Crew Challenge and participating in other once in a lifetime opportunities. The evenings will be packed with social activities at events including the 2016 Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, the 2016 SCORE Baja 1000 qualifying, CRAWL Magazine socials and more.

Because the SEMA show is a trade-only event, and to add to the at home experience, Bower Media is hosting a Virtual SEMA Experience based around the ladies big activities of the week. Participate every day by posting a photo per the designated theme to the Ladies Offroad Network Facebook Group or Bower Media’s Facebook Page. Make sure you include the associated hashtag, to verify the entry. Our team will be logging all the entries for the day and then randomly drawing two winners for each day, one for a pair of Kicker Audio Headphones and one for a Pennzoil Oil change at a Mopar Dealership! Winners will be announced on Monday when Charlene returns to the office. The themes for the week include pictures of: Monday – Trophy to celebrate the Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. Tuesday – BFGoodrich Tires. Wednesday – WARN Winches. Thursday – Arctic Cat. Friday – Pennzoil with a Jeep bonus. Details and video explaining the photo fun is available at http://www.ladiesoffroadnetwork.com/events/virtual-sema-show-experience?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss

The SEMA Show is the fourth event in the Ladies Co-Driver Challenge. After a long and rigorous vetting process Marcie Hricziscse was chosen for the first event in June, Monster Energy Trail of Missions presented by BFGoodrich Tires. Then, Charlene went to BFGoodrich Tires 36 Hours of Uwharrie with winner Kristen Endres where they finished 2nd in the Pro Class. The third event was the all girls Rebelle Rally with Kaleigh Hotchkiss where the team won amongst 36 other competitors! The final event will be with Leigh Singleton and Kristie Moore when they join Charlene at the SEMA Show this week. Stories and videos are posted on the Ladies Offroad Network.

About Charlene Bower: Charlene grew up in an off-roading family, enjoying annual trips to Dumont Dunes, the Rubicon and other iconic off-road destinations. Charlene’s first job was changing dirt bike tires at a motorcycle shop in Northern California. She worked upper retail management at multi-line Powersports dealerships for 11 years and in magazine media for 4 years before founding Bower Motorsports Media in 2009. In just seven short years she has built a media empire using trending media and communication platforms supplying the backdrop for some of the most successful racers, events and companies in the 4×4 market. Filling needs, she has built brands that include the online talk show Bower Power Hour, Race Team Store online marketplace, I’m Not Just A Girl clothing and jewelry line, Ladies Offroad Network website devoted to women offroaders, and Racer Marketing School for online education.

Charlene doesn’t spend all of her time behind a desk, she’s actually a dirt bike rider, hard core wheeler and only female member of the Arizona Undertakers 4×4 club. In 2014 she earned the title of “Fastest Girl Up Backdoor” at the King of the Hammers Backdoor Shootout.

Charlene champions for women in offroad. In 2016, Charlene hosted the Ladies Co-Driver Challenge. The wildly successful contest had entries from 91 women wheelers across the Country, vying to have an opportunity to go on the road with Charlene to some of the top events in North America utilizing the BFGoodrich Tires Jeep, including the Monster Energy Trail of Missions, BFGoodrich 36 Hours of Uwharrie, Rebelle Rally and The SEMA Show.

Charlene has been recognized by BFGoodrich Tires as one of their Performance Team Members, and was recently nominated for the Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame Industry Rising Star award.

“I am honored to have had the opportunity to work in different segments of the offroad industry for 22 years! I am enjoying the opportunity to give back with my knowledge – helping racers be more successful off the track, enthusiasts be more successful behind the wheel, and businesses gain unique media exposure.”
