For all of you who have gone to larger dump pipes, did you end up putting back any type of heat shield/radiant barrier like the stock setup? Not much space to the cab firewall as is (and I think you need ~3/4”/20mm air gap for these to be effective). Or, are you just running without any heat shield, and everything is fine?

This is what I made, Remove the old dump pipe and this one fits back in to the original system.

also, @oldblue when you just enlarged the dump pipe but tied into the original smaller exhaust back, was there

a noticeable difference in power?
Lower EGT’s?

Is there some benefit of just enlarging the dump pipe without doing a larger exhaust all the way back?

Any others have experience with just enlarged the dump pipe without upgrading the rest of the exhaust?

your EGT will give better info if it is installed upstream of your turbo.. I actually left in the stock downpipe, and installed the 3" exhaust as in the pics.. one bend & about 6ft in overall length.. I installed an O2 bung for Lamda sensor.. I am going to be installing a 2nd EGT sensor to measure system heat loss.. the lower the heat loss the more grunt & better "sweep" of gases thru head

Is there any drone with this setup at highway speeds? Looking to do a similar exhaust on ours. Do you remember what it cost as well if you don’t mind sharing? Getting a quote this week and not sure what to expect since it’s not a stock length system.
