Tell me I CAN get the lower plate off the four studs of these freakin' knuckles. What's the trick? I've read of the brass drift use. Is that the best way absent a special puller (or a plasma cutter)?

try taking off the top arm remove the birf and use a punch through the top trunion hole. should tap out pretty easy.

definetly don't want to lose patience and start trying to slam a screwdriver between the plate and knuckle housing and screw up the mating surfaces.

you can bang on the steering arm alot easier and remove it first.

don't forget to take note of the shim packs top and bottom and put them back the same on rebuild. so important.

good luck

Thanks, too tall. I read about that in Ferguson's tech article on the process and flat forgot about it. They're out of there. I'll sleep tonight after all.
