At the Round Up, a very cool person gave me a knuckle stud to replace my broke one. What is cool about the knuckle stud was it had a 9mm torx head on top of it so you can use a socket wrench to screw it in. He said he got them at the dealership. The dealership does know how to get them. Anyone know where to get them?

Thanks,

Sweet!!! Thank you!!!!

Torx fitting on top is neat and all, but it is still just a stock fastener...

If you want to not worry about breaking knuckle studs any longer you might want to get these

Good luck!

Gotta agree w/ Steve on this one. Brian makes some kick ass parts, and these are no exception.

Those are cool too. I would not red locktite them like the site say incase they break. It would make it PITA to dig out of the knuckle. But if they do, I am almost sure that will be least of your problems.

how are they gonna back off? There is a nut tighten on them. and the cone washers
I used anti sieze and everything, threadlock is fine, I just like it when things come apart nice 5 years down the road

The stock stud will stretch, distort and fail under load....seen this often.

do people usually replace the bottom studs too, or do these usually not fail?

thanks-
Dustin

I have not seen the bottom ones give out like the top....but if I am rebuilding a knuckle or front axle, they all get changed out....depending on the intended use of the vehicle, it will get the ARP studs on top and new Toyota studs and nuts on the bottom.

if you dont use the THreadlock i would be sure and Check the Torque every month or so, and deffinatly before you wheel it..

I check 'em every morning, and sometimes during a lunch break if we've been wheeling hard.

Of course, when the PS goes out and you can't turn left... hard to put alot of stress on the arms..

I've seen the bottom ones break on an 80.

How does welding the studs in help to stop breakage? Just wondering...
