knuckle rebuild went well - but...

I did my driver's side knuckle overhaul today, and all went well except for the circlip that fits onto the end of the birf shaft. The groove on the shaft isn't clearing the splines in the hub lock body. I estimate the groove to be inside the splines by about the thickness of the circlip.

Could this be due to new seals that I installed needing to be seated?

Spindle bolts torqued to 34ft/lbs - is this enough? I can't think of anything else inboard of the hub that would be causing this.

thanks.

Did you try to thread in a bolt in the end of the birf and pull out toward you with pliers even by hand worked for me. Has some play in there.

I JUST found the solution. Maybe jumped the gun on the search, but I'm wiped out. Tried one more combination of words & found something that answered the question.

Thread is officially dead.

Thanks, though.
