Kick down cable? (1 Viewer)

My 88 fj62 has recently been taking a long time to shift from 2nd to 3rd. It only does it when its cold, but will run up to 3000 rpm before shifting. Today it shifted out of 2nd and seemed to not want to go into 3rd at all. I recently adjusted my kick down cable to remove slack, it never did this before. Do you think I may have adjusted too much? Thanks for your input..

Got it, I didn't realize that cable was so touchy. I backed it off about a 16th of an inch, and now she shifts perfect. Probably should have used the search function before I posted. Funny how it actually works..
