ooh, longtime, no posting!

I'm putting an ARB deluxe on the Brick for Julia - what's the current winch choice for these? - plus I'm guessing I need to swap the front springs out for the weight... maybe c59-222v?

i have an old Warn integrated solenoid behind mine. you buying used or new? if new, comeup seems the brand of choice these days....or badland. champagne or beer budget?

and i'm on linear C59-166 springs, which are rated for 2.5″ Lift no Load, 2.0″ with up to 220LBS Load. YMMV. Or try spacers?

Search using the Toyota 5 digit number moulded into the connector you're trying to replace
Thank you!!

Pesky Heater Hose?

I like how you are trying to research how to fix your 80 at night while you are on vacation... I think that shows the typical 80 series insanity of I8Mud character!
Hate to say it but i have always disagreed with replacing the PHH. If the PHH is in need of replacing then every coolant line should be replaced. Any one of them is just as critical and will leave you just as stuck as the PHH. Just one of my things.

Then don't say it.

Most the other hoses are likely to have been relaxed at some point. PHH and the throttle body coolant hose are out of sight, out of mind, and squarely in the too hard basket or I can do that later basket. So, they get neglected.

Just to stay on the hose topic; I'm in the middle of deleting the rear heat right now, just to remove possible failure areas. I don't mind doing things once, but I loathe repeating repairs in the same areas...

Check with @roadstr6 before you buy the ARB...

Oh, and while it's on my mind, who's replacing the windshield gasket for you? I only knew of one source in Charlotte who would do it correctly, and that was 10-15 years ago.

I am - I’ve just come out of 2+ decades of roping in 911 windshields and this looks very similar (so I’m going for it). - wish me luck!

Tell us how it goes?

I need to take mine out at some point to fix some rust spots and paint.
Have put windscreens in in the past, but 25 years ago

Monroe Glass told me that they could do it and I believe them. They'll even let you watch. They also said they could do my 100 or LX if I needed it. They know about the rivets and all that jazz. I trust those guys. Family business that has been around a long, long time. I've not had them do a windshield for me before, but they have done a few chip repairs and I have bought residential glass from them for many years. Next time I do an LC windshield, it is going to Monroe Glass.

As for the ARB bumper and winch, I recently installed one of the Badlands Apex 12k winches in the ARB on my son's 100. It went in fine and works great. I did have to relocate the control box to clear the front valence. I have the Slee Short Bus bumper on my 80 with a Superwinch 11,500. I relocated the control box on that one too to avoid trimming the front valence. I think most planetary winches have the footprint that will fit the ARB. The old school spur gear Warn 8274 will not fit without major mods.

Thanks Dave! When I invariably run out of time before my WV trip, I'll certainly consider having MG install it.

would love to move to a short bus, but currently on used-ARB budget. ;)

Can you gentlemen confirm that this cowl opening should be flat on the driver’s side like the one to its right and NOT bent in an arc as shown in the photo?

Finally got the rear heater completely removed (5 saw cuts) - much better now.

The tubes above the cats were certainly on their last legs, rust-wise, so that deletion was timely.

what's the chance anyone has brown door panels from a '93 in VGC? would love to get the rest of the leather out of the interior.

- A year and a half later, I'm back on this project (I know, I heard it from my wife as well). Can someone help me with routing the wiring harness as it goes past the starter to the transmission? I feel like it goes above the starter, between it and the block, sort of on top of the bellhousing.

I can't find my reference photos, of course.
