Why wouldn't I want it? Does it need to be removed to do the OME lift? I read on a thread if a person wanted long arm lift then they would not want kdss. That's all I know.

Firm handling and rides on rails on the street and has better articulation off road...The new McLaren has KDSS.

Yep. Don't get it if you want to lift more than 3 to 3.5 or want a long arm. I have it and can honestly say my KDSS GX drove better than the independent suspension RX they gave me as a loaner. That was before my lift and 33s though.

I am incredibly happy with the on road handling of my GX with KDSS, really happy I spent the extra time to find one that had it.

It was a very low rate option, you pretty much have to look for KDSS to get it. No dealer knows, and calling dealer after dealer to get them to go turn the key and see if the KDSS dummy light comes on is painful.

The only way to get it for sure somewhat easily is to look for sport packages, darker rims, black wood, grey leather. I think they were only 05/06, at least I've never seen one past there. I really wanted an 07 for the new nav but I was not a fan of the light leather and reddish wood.

Honest, there are 07-09 sport packages with black wood? That's what I wanted, months of looking led me to believe that the black wood/grey leather was 05-06 only. I hate the old Nav system

Both of those "sport" GXs don't have the black wood trim as well as any other thing Sport models are supposed to include?

And I didn't think they sold KDSS as an option but in the PDF above they list is as an option costing $1,750 but it comes standard in the sports package which is $100 cheaper.

Gentleman,

The idiot car salesman in charge of listing the GX's for sale on Autotrader are notorious for cutting and pasting INCORRECT descriptions in their ads. They don't bother to remove the KDSS from their descriptions because they don't know what it is and whether it has it or not.

I ran into this problem ALOT when searching for mine. The only way I was EVER able to get them to verify KDSS was with the color of the wood. If the wood was Dark Grey then I would ask them to take a photo of the drivers side frame rail so I could see if it had hydraulics.

DO NOT rely on descriptions but instead the PICTURES of the interior trim. I found some with KDSS that didn't have it in their description and vice versa.

If it has brown wood it doesn't have KDSS. If you find one then let me know and I will eat crow. I will need photo verification though... They never take pictures of the KDSS hydraulics running down the frame on the drivers side or the THICK sway bar unless you ask them too.

In 2009 when I bought mine, I only found about three clean GX's over about a six month period that actually had KDSS that were priced how I wanted them. Out of those three only one had the silver I was looking for. I bought that one.

I actually bought it from Denver site unseen and they shipped it to me in Houston for about $700. I have NO regrets. Love my truck!

It was a 2005, 47k miles, KDSS, silver, Nav, Levinson... Paid about $26900k and some change including shipping. Of course this was in 2009.

I owe about $4800 on it. Yea me!!

You'll only eat crow on 2005 and above, right? I just stumbled upon a 2004, low mileage, lexus service history, in the LA area that I had decided to buy from 3 hours away. Went to close the deal and it had KDSS! You can imagine my excitement, because it wasn't listed in the ad; they didn't know what they had.

But to be on topic, I have normal wood trim, but it's 2004, per sport package.
