Howdy,

There are a bunch of us (like 25) going to a Federal Highways school at UNR for 6 weeks. Does anybody have any recommendations about hotels, car rentals, snowmobile rentals at Tahoe, or anything else? We have the "official" recommendations, but are looking for something better...

Thanks,
Steve

Would love to help, but I would say any of the casinos that you can get a good price on is probably about the best that you can do. Car rentals the same. Never rented a snowmobile at Tahoe, so again, not much help. Sorry:frown:

Locals may the worst group to ask about hotels and stuff, we hardly ever stay at any local hotels.

Maybe some of the guys in the Bay area could help more?

Why not post your question in the Chat area, I'm sure you will get plenty of advice.

Snow mobile rentals - used to be able to rent them at the Xmas Tree lodge off of Mt Rose hwy. Not sure if there's enough snow this year for rentals.

For some good snow, go to Kirkwood Ski Resort. It's a hike from Reno but the snow is usally good. Again, don't know about this year though, sounds like it's been dry!

Food - check out the Awful Awful burger at the Golden Nugget (dinky casino on Virginia street).

Don't hold your breath for deep snow this season in the Sierra! We are now less than 20% of normal in most places...
