Pro Tip: always keep rear HVAC on, regardless of passenger occupancy or not.
This is doubly true if you are running a fridge in back.

I had this same hiss from driver foot well and warm rear air on my 17 LC as well. Had dealer do an refrigerant evacuation and refill and all sounds are gone and every vent blows icy cold. The sound you're hearing in the driver foot well is definitely some kind of expansion valve cycling every 10-15 seconds.
Nice, fingers crossed mine isn't a slow leak somewhere in mine, time will tellYep. It's fixed now, you could hang meat in the truck. Probably a small leak not worth fixing unless it's reasonable cost-wise. It's just such a fluke because this truck is so.damn.clean. Back seats never even used. Never been off the pavement (until the day I got it) but the guy serviced every single 4WD component. It's never towed anything. It was just an interstate cruiser for the PO who traveled for work who was sick of the gas bill, got an ES hybrid. The horrible mileage doesn't bother us because we don't really drive very much, plus in 10 years people will be clamoring for old NA V8s like this truck has.

Did you buy it new? How long until the A/C started to warm up? IMO small leaks aren't a big deal, our upstairs A/C unit has one...we just service it every year and add freon. The refrigerant I added to the truck was $40 with a gauge, pretty idiot proof. I will also keep this thread updated, but I think my air is going to be freezing for a very long time if not forever. If there were a hot desert to go off roading in, I would today lol.
How much did Toyota charge?I bought my LC used early this year and its a 2017. I've had it recharged for about 3 months now and it's still good so far.
Do you know where this would be on the LC? I assume the same physical location, but we don’t have fixed cup holders. Mine has the same issue, rear not blowing cold enough but front blows ice cold.Below the cup holders for the third row you will see small round module with an electrical component visible.. make sure those are clean. They are the sensors for the rear AC.
Also is the hiss tied to brake application? Our brake boosters are electric with a pump that builds pressure in a hydraulic accumulator each time you hit the brakes, or if the vehicle sits for a while without running. Driver footwell is exactly where you will hear the sound. Could be the cause.

Sounds good, will try. Thanks!I’m not sure if that’s necessary. Just turn 4 zone off and crank driver temp down to low. That is max a/c. On low and high it’s just full blast cool or heat, nothing to do with the actual auto system.
My 13 LC has fixed cup holders for the third row molded into the interior side panels. Below that is a very small storage pocket, and on the front side of that is the round module with the temp sensor and a plastic “roof” molded over the top to protect it.Do you know where this would be on the LC? Ah, makes sense! I must have missed the memo that we were talking about the third row(and not 2nd). I do have those build in cup holders. Not sure about other years.
I can get a picture of this tomorrow if it would help.
I paid $240 for the evac and refill from the Toyota dealershipHow much did Toyota charge?
Lexus wants $285 just to recharge. Mr. Cool is $70 plus however much freon they add.
Maybe your expert Indy dude didn’t need to replace the “entire ac system” on your 100……I just had the same warm air problem. I brought it to my Indy guy and he said the Freon was perfect and believed it to be a physical obstruction like a crayon or something jamming a mixing door to where heat and cold were mixing to be warm. I was about to begin tearing out the seats and rolling the carpet back to save some labor cost and then drive it over to my guys shop. I decided to roll the dice first and take it to Lexus to have them diagnose. Thank God I did because they evacuated and charged it with Freon, added some dye to find a leak and gave me my baby back with ice cold air all around. It cost me $280 or so, but saved me hours of labor. The service guy implied that the LX air conditioning system was a little unique and therefore my Indy guy may have just been unfamiliar. I post this here for anyone researching this in the future. My Indy guy replaced my entire ac system on my 100 and has done plenty of ac work for me in the past, he’s perfectly competent, but clearly he misdiagnosed it this time. It sucks to pay Lexus, but for ac and other expensive systems I don’t really hesitate to at least have them diagnose. I brought it to them for the AHC flush simply to put the liability on them if they screwed the pooch. They did an excellent job and it cost me like $200.
He definitely did.Maybe your expert Indy dude didn’t need to replace the “entire ac system” on your 100……
