Just ordered Icon rebounds for my LX...What tires?

It's an LX. Won't be touching the UCAs. ...Can't have AHC cake and eat it too.

Interesting, so I'll still be about 1.4 inches inside of stock offset. This reinforces my desire to go 285 and deal with any minor rubbing issues. 3D chess anyone?

I REALLY like the @dmc build with 285/75/17, but that might be a bit much on an LX that's spends 99% of it's time in "normal" mode with only a 1" lift. I don't know if he is running spacers or not, but that stance looks amazing.

Dynamic lift sure changes the decision making process.
I think you would have clearance issues with only 1" of lift with 285/75s. Mine tires have pretty much clearanced themselves at this point but I had some rubbing for the first couple of months. I do not run a spacer.

Thanks Dave. That's kind of what I was thinking. Nice to know you get that stance w/o a spacer. I've been admiring your rig for a while. One of the best looking setups IMHO. Hopefully I'll be looking similar soon.

Thank you. I appreciate it. Just getting started on the build after getting back into a 200 after a 3 year absence but so far very happy with the mods I've made.

I ordered the rebound in titanium for my silver lx. We’ll see how they look, I kinda wanted a change from the matte black. I’m planning on running 285/75’s in bfg’s or coppers. I’ll be doing the ahc lift and when I get it aligned I’ll have the guy put my caster full forward limit. I should have everything installed Saturday.

We'd need pics ASAP 👍

I'm anxious to see how yours looks! It might be a few more days before I see mine.

I'm about to order Rebounds with 285/75 in the next few weeks. Looking forward to seeing some pics before pulling the trigger.

I’ll post pixs as soon as I get them installed. I bought 5 so fingers crossed it fits in the spare. I don’t get home till Saturday, I should have a bunch of packages.

I'm also interested to know if the spare tire housing can fit this wheel/tire setup.

Also ordered 5 but I think it's safe bet 285/70 will fit in spare.

I can verify that it will fit under a 2019 LC. Not sure if that helps or not.

The yacht has finally got her sea legs!

Only minor rubbing. I will probably need to remove the front mud flaps and massage the front fender a little. Aesthetically - I'm very happy! Will need to live with it for a bit before I can make any other comment.

Here's an "up high" shot and the before photo...

Go with 32inch and you will be fine. 33inch will rub and you will need to do adjustments as remove flaps and from the front of the fender.

FYI - @luke27617 called this exactly. Removed the mud flaps, and that cleared most of the rubbing. Still need to make a couple small adjustments.

I don’t know what the offset of the stock LX rim is but I do know it’s the correct offset for 33’s. The question for tincan45 becomes how does stock offset compare with the new Icon’s.

For future reference, this statement is not completely true. I know you're focused on strict physical fitment of the tire within the well. To add, offset is also integral to steering geometry and is correlated with tire diameter.

Stock is 60mm for a 31.2" tire
This is why rock warriors have a 50mm offset designed for a 32.7" tire.
Projecting that out for optimal steering geometry:
- ~48mm for 33" tire
- ~40mm for 34" tire

Well two of five wheels were damaged from 4wheel parts. I ended up returning all five wheels and other stuff because I’ve had really bad customer service with them over the years. It will probably be another 10 days before I get new wheels and have time to get them installed. I’m kinda thinking of going with 285/70’s now after looking at tincan’s ride.

Edit, I just ordered more thru wheelers offroad and because they are based in OR. I just saved a hundred dollars because of no sales tax.

Thanks @TeCKis300. I realize this is a bit of a compromise, and I knew this going in. Closest I could find other than RW was the evos. Frankly, I prefer the "looks" of the rebounds to both of them. I'm very happy with the physical fitment, and it still drives nicely from what I can tell so far. What do you see and the main downside of a positive scrub radius like this? I'm no expert, but on a dual control arm system, this doesn't seem to be a terrible compromise. Having said that, I'm still trying to wrap my head around all the variables - turning, braking, RWD vs AWD, contact pressures etc. I wish I had taken the time to do some hard braking and turn tests before I swapped the wheel so I could baseline the differences. I'll defer to your expertise instead.

I'll do the AHC lift tomorrow and get an alignment this week.

Welcome to the club! Looks great. The silver on silver is a great combo. I see you still have the front mud flaps on. :)
