Hey guys,

I just picked up a 2006 Lexus LX (family minivan) and I had a couple of questions:

1. The center console cupholders for the 2nd row passenger seats...it does not pop out anymore because the plastic broke where the two screws hold the metal spring-like piece. Any ideas on how to fix this or what part # to replace it?

2. While driving over 50mph there seems to be a good amount of wind noise from the top of the front winshield. Is this normal? The windshield was replaced at 15K miles by lexus. Would a visor for the sunroof possibly reduce this noise?

Thanks for any info.

I am ot sure on the first issue, but I think I have the same problem.

On the windshield noise, I would suspect some type of air leak and ask the dealer to address. You shouldn't need a visor on the sunroof.

One other problem is the accessory 12v outlets are not working. However, the main cig lighter 12v outlet is. Any thoughts? Are they on a seperate fuse?

Thanks

It probably would be easiest to replace the entire piece through Toyota. Just shop around for a dealer who will give you the best price. Some dealers sell MSRP only, while others will give it for wholesale. I recently purchased a Toyota part for 179 through a Toyota dealer MSRP was 220. My local dealer wanted 269 for the same part.

As far as the part number I don't know, but any dealer should be helpful on providing that information. Good Luck!

Yes, seperate fuses.

Windshield: They probably did a sloppy job when it was replaced at 15K. Many have the same problem. I think the windshield professionals (Safelite) often do a better job than Toyota or Lexus because they do it more often.

If you want to get rid of the wind noise you may have to get replaced or re-installed.

Thanks for the info. The wind noise is getting pretty old quick. Does anyone know which fuse is for the two accessory 12v outlets?

The fuse is located on the driver side foot well. If you look at the brake pedal its over on the left side. The lid should tell you which fuse does what. On a side note, all the 12 outlets in my 01 are one fuse.......atleast i thought they were.....w/e not important

I had the second row cup holders replaced by lexus a year or two ago on the 00, i think it was 170 for parts and labor. I can check my records if you want.

X3 on the windshield......my 01 had the windshield replaced and has a wind noise from the top of the passenger side

+2 …err… X4 Go to a windshield pro and get it done by a specialist.

I had a similar issue with my Tacoma -- a weird howl that was very difficult to reproduce. In the end it turned out the mastic used to mount the window was applied incorrectly at the factory.

PMAN, if you could find your work order and it has a part number that would be great. I went to World Toyota yesterday and they could not find the part. They are the best there. THanks. Anyone know of a parts diagram website?

I'll look for it when I get home, what part of Atlanta are you in?

Ok, it took a while, but i finally found it.

part number they replaced
58803-60012-A0...............$126.60

plus $35 for labor this was at Nalley Lexus in roswell back in 2008
