I met up with a group of you guys in the puerco for the fathers day run. I'd like to join up with you all. I have a pickup and a grill that I could bring. Hopefully by buddy will have his 4runner going by then; either way, I think he will be there with me and his wife and kid. I've been trying to get him to post up on here, but every spare minute he has, he's working on the runner. Looking forward to meeting up!

That's great, it'll be good to see you ...... and the grill :D

Hey Shawn,

Can you ask the station near Oak flats to bring the fire truck around for the kids? Assuming they're not fighting a fire or something important like that!

I'd like to firm up some details before the picnic on Sunday.

1) Jon, Daisy,

Is it a $15 reimbursement if you host a meeting? Can we increase that amount since it's a picnic? I was thinking about bringing brats, smoked sausage and hot dogs (plus buns, mustard etc.) I also thought about bringing some potato salad, plates, utensils, napkins and was thinking about filling a cooler with water, soda and ice. $15 won't cover all this unless other's volunteer to bring the plates, potato salad and soda. I just wanted to make sure that all the core necessary items were guaranteed to be there and figured the best way was for me to bring them. I would still encourage everyone to bring some additional drinks. And as usual, please add to the collection of food by bringing additional meat to grill, prepared main dish, side dish, and/or dessert.

2) Ali,

Can you pick up the key to the picnic site in the next couple days? I don't know how many days in advance you are allowed to pick up the key but the Sandia Ranger District office is only open M-F, 8-4.

3) greengo82,

Are you still planning to make it and able to bring your grill with you for burning meat?

Since there haven't been any suggestions for the time, then I'm going to set the time for this. Let's make it from 12 - 5. I'll start grilling once the grill shows up.

How about we treat this like the holiday party and have Marc give me the receipts and I'll write a check.

We eliminated the stipend several years ago. I would approve using club funds for a Summer picnic

I'd still like to know what the budget should be and I'll work to stay in that. I propose a limit of $50. I'll bring the following:

Brats
Kielbasa
Hot Dogs
Buns
Mustard and Ketchup
Potato Salad
Drinks
Ice
Hand wipes
Plates, utensils, napkins

The site rental was $75, just FYI.

Marc,

I have a bunch of plastic utensils, napkins, plates, cups and such left from our family Easter deal. More than i will use in the next two years. I can take them if you want.

If you think you've got enough for our gathering and don't mind letting us use them up that would be great.

I don't believe that I have been to or heard of an HDC gathering that has been close to the size of my family gatherings. If we have 50 people show up I easlily have set of four utensiles (fork, spoon and knife, napkins, etc... ) for each person. I guess my 30 nephews and nieces, did not feel the need to use this stuff up, so it is more than I need here.

Ali - I called the ranger district and gave them your name as the person who would be picking up the key to the gate for the site. You'll need to take $10 with you as a deposit for the key.
