Any suggestions for a trip?
Can't remember what exactly was discussed at the last meeting.

My brother and I are talking about our July long trip, would like to join depending were you are headed (want to be away from the long weekend riff raff).

Kookipi (or however the hell it's spelled) is apparently some 3 hours past Harrison, so aside from some hooligans driving around in Land Cruisers, there should be no other riff raff :)

And for those wondering, Kookipi is the planned recreation site that the 4WDABC will be looking after. I also recall we (the CC) had volunteered for it?

Ah ok I think that's the one that runs from East Harrison to Nehatlatch right? We headed up there a month ago when we did our Clear creek clean up run and the snow stopped us at 1400ft.

No updates on the BC4x4 site from what I've seen on the Kookipi. With the snow pack, it will be interesting to see if more of the hill has come down with the melt, or will come down. In Sept 2010 there were a couple spots where undercuts on the road were happening as well.

Would Big Silver be a bad fallback idea on a long weekend; Probably.

Kim talked about it at least months meeting. It's still being finalized.

Yeah when I last went through in 09 there was a few spots were the road was getting eroded away. I was up there 3 weeks ago and as soon as the road started going up in elevation we hit snow, it was the soft wet concrete style snow that stops you dead in your tracks. I'm sure a lot of it had melted but I'm sure at the 2000 meter line there is still a good 4-6ft of snow. I was up the Hurley FSR (similar elevation) 2 weeks ago and there was 8+ ft of snow up there and the plow was broken down trying to open up the road.

I'm sure if we aired right down we could make some progress it just amateur of how much and what the snow is like.
