Finally got around to redoing my gas/cooler basket. I actually had some old bar stools I was trying to sell and cut them apart and used the steel tube and basket weave. I did my best at heating tube to bend, could have turned out better. oh well. Looks good enough I think. I also bought some small LED lights off amazon for the license plate. Now I need a cooler and 2 more gas cans. lol

Have not done much to FJ lately. Money has been tight, so on the back burner..
I was bored so I built some speaker cases for the back. I think they turned out clean. When I install the top, the bolts are removed and top bolts go in.
also rebuilt my hubs and painted them.

Nice detail on the hubs. People always appreciate attention to detail .

Pulled my steering wheel off tonight, needs to be shinned up. One small crack I need to fix.
sanding down and repaint. It was pretty rough. But glad no big cracks.

Anyone out there have a horn mechanisms they want to get rid of?

Those are nice looking welds. I like the look of the basket too, well done!

Need Help on a wiring harness issue.

I have a solid 1978 wiring harness that I am rehabbing. There are a few items in the harness like the emissions computer connection.
Should I just leave it? Or can I remove it without having any issue? Any trick I need to know about? Or is it just a simple remove all wires that go to that connection?
Thanks in advance!

Well I finished cleaning, unwrapping and labeling my wiring harness.
going to wait on rewrapping it until I figure out what else I need to add.

Any good threads out there on adding extra fuse blocks for misc items, winch, fog lights, etc...?

Started working on the Ambulance door, dang. So and stead wins the race. Take forever to spot weld.
Getting there. Few more small spots to fix, then it’s on the some more areas.

What do you guys typically use to spray inside the doors to stop rust?

Bought this Evaporust today🤷‍♂️🤔. Any good?

New studs on both sides. Ran the tap on all the holes.
This was my first time to use chassis saver. Damn, that’s so tough stuff. Two coats on axle and sand down with fine sandpaper. Going to spray it now with Shop Line paint.

Don’t get that crap on your hands, it not fun getting off.

Well I got the axle put back in with the new bearings (pain) and my new brake lines built.
Painted backing plates and axel with shop line after 2 coats of chassis saver.
I hope to get the 3rd member back in Next week. Weather getting to nice to sit in garage.

Nice build, and lucky kid. My boy has a 3rd gen 4runner that he’s learning to wrench on. A sometimes painful process on a 270k Vehicle.

As for adding electronic accessories, there are a ton of threads on adding fuse blocks, etc. The search function has a little bit of a learning curve. Just be sure to sell them the forum you intend to search and you’ll get more on point results.
