So after lusting over a 60 since my childhood I found an offer I couldn't refuse. I am flying down to Tucson Wednesday morning with my 4 year old and picking this up.

Hopefully all goes well with it. It is completely tricked out with essentially everything that I would want done to it, and has a Vortec 5.3 conversion to boot.

The plan is to pick it up, and do a 1700 mile road trip home to Washington with my 4 year old.

Wish me luck!

I know of this rig....

Great purchase... !!!!

Awesome that your kid coming with yah !!!

Great looking 60! Have fun on the way home.

What a fun trip. Great memories for you two.

Welcome! Great looking rig.

I am going to seem like a naysayer but traveling with a 4 year-old in
an unknown-to-you rig 1700 miles COULD be "fantastic adventure of a lifetime"...
It could also get real tough and real complicated real quick if something breaks or
fails or otherwise leaves you needing to travel on foot, in the winter, with a 4 year old.

Nothing against the rig, I don't know it at all and it sounds great. But traveling with
a toddler seems to have a set of realities that don't respond well to potential chaos
or unforeseen complications. Just sayin....those BFG AT's are the old version...can
tell by the shoulder design. What's the date code? Wanna put 1700 miles on em not knowing?

I don't know, maybe I'm in overprotective Dad-mode because I have a 2 yr. old
that has to be watched like a hawk right now but it wouldn't be automatic for me.
And I would certainly be stoked to take possession of such a pretty, seemingly well-sorted,
POWERFUL 60. :)

Which leads me to a question:
Exactly what product is that truck finished in? The matte dark blue looks like a "liner"
product of some sort. Looks incredible.

Wow, I m a bit jelly. If you come back through Moab, I'd love to show you guys some of amazing views around here and have a good look at that machine.

Thanks for the concern, and your points are well taken. As for my 4 year old, he is a seasoned road tripper and we will be staying on well traveled highways. I also have roadside assistance and towing as part of my insurance.

Tires are the older style, but have less than 10k on the clock.

Body is covered in Monsterliner. That is the one part of the rig that I am not sure about, I am partial to the glossy look.

I feel like I have done my homework pretty good on this rig, but a transaction hasn't taken place yet. If there is something that concerns me when I get there, I have no problem buying 2 plane tickets home and cutting my losses.

Love

Love Moab! Been there in my 100 a couple times.

We have to get home in a hurry this trip, but I will definitely be taking the 60 there as soon as possible.

Thats a sweet ride. I am about to post my new beauty as soon as I get some good flics of her. Wanted to ask you what front bumper is that and also the rear? I am looking to getting a new front a rear set up. Preferably with a tire and can holder. Also what are the brackets sticking out towards the water for? Real nice color. Best of luck on your journey with your 4 year old!!!

I know the front bumper is made by 4+, I am not 100% sure on the rear. I will get back to you on that.

The brackets are custom made to hang a hammock. It comes with an ARB awning. Perfect camping setup for when I am alone.

Right on!! Those brackets for the hammock are a really neat idea. I dig that a lot. Congratulations on your purchase. I see you're in Bellingham. Were sort of neighbors. I got a buddy who lives up there. Seems like a cool place.

Well, sad to say it didn't happen. I am on an airplane flying home. The cruiser was in rougher shape than anticipated and there were just too many issues for me to pull the trigger. I wasn't confident that it would make the drive home.

The search continues........

You did the right thing. It's hard but your better off finding the right one than settling. Keep us posted!

That is too bad, seemed perfect. Id be lost without my 60, best truck I ever had.

The search continues........

I constantly am trolling CL and ebay just to see whats out there. I've seen a guy up in Washington that sells pretty clean 60 series Landcruisers. You may want to start looking there too. At least your real close if he has anything.

Oh yeah, I am on CL daily searching for something I can't live without. Don't think I plan on venturing out of the Northwest for my search anymore unless I can have somebody I trust check it out that lives nearby. Traveling for nothing ain't cheap!

Until then I will keep enjoying my 100 series. Now that I have some fun money that I didn't spend, I think it needs some bumpers!

Wish I saw this post earlier.. I would have offered to help you out since I live in Tucson.. don't worry you will find one soon and it will be worth the wait.
