The wild animals and I have an understanding... except for the jack rabbits... they are recreational, for the boys.

I’ve had to send coyotes and wild horses on their way a few times. But, no animals have been harmed thus far... except me.

Oh, I also carry a folding chair (can’t use one of those that fit in a bag), a folding 2’x5’ table (white in the pictures).

Here’s a lot of what I carry:

I carry a ‘fluids’ tote in a portable winch cradle, on the front hitch receiver.

A pop-up tent, in the netting, under the shelf, an 8’x8’ tent, where Chester’s butt is, in the picture, above. A 24qt ice chest, a 7gal water cube, a jump box and extra fan belts are in the same area as the bigger tent.

The passenger side has a pair of plastic sand ladders and extra tent poles, between my bed and the wall.

The front of the rollback is covered in molke panel, with hats, tea pitcher, vest, bear spray, emergency backpack, Nathan ultra bladder pack and other stuff.

The cab ceiling has no headliner... the ceiling in front of the rollbar has Mille panel, with various small packs (toiletries, medium first aid kit, quick access .40 travel storage, survival knife & holster, extra .40 mags and other stuff.

My overhead locking AR15 storage console has been repurposed, to carry my .44mag, chest rig and speed loaders, numerous maps, 7” DVD Player and accessories, DVDs, warm gloves and my make urinal... for those special times.

Under the drivers seat... a divided ‘drawer’, full of tools, bottle jack and homemade gear shift lock.

Under the center console is a set of impact sockets and my 12v impact driver.

The two ‘tools’ ammo cases have been repurposed the ‘straps’ and ‘tent stakes’.

The center console us a licking ammo can, with various small stuff.

In front of the passenger seat is storage for a dozen 2 liter water bottles, my camera bag and the boys e-collar bag.

The bottom of the k rehear console is quick access stuff (flash light, gate and garage remotes, knife, camera and various small stuff.

You’d have to see it to believe it... but, we often confirtably overnight in 44.

It takes a lotta vasoline to get everything packed!!

So, except for fresh foods and meds, it’s always ready to :steer:

When I want to carry firewood, I use a 4’ cargo basket in the back hitch receiver.

When I want more room inside, I put stuff on my Con-fer roof rack ... thanks @UZJ40!!

This is @Ride Fly ’s thread, but all this
Kinda fits the thread.

Chester looks real impressed. I bet you enjoy packing as much as you do taking the trip. I'll say this, you definitely are prepared.

I hope so... I can’t get anything else in there and prefer to use the roof for long trips, ‘cuz I can’t load it in the garage.

Planning a lengthy trip in early May, with only Chester, to several East-Central NV wildernesses.

Really remote, so I’ll have to carry extra food and water for that trip... maybe two 5 gal Sceptor cans of gas as well... I’ll have to figure mileage to figure whether I’ll need more than the 38 gals in my tanks.

Like Major Kong said" a fella could have a pretty good time in Vegas with all that stuff" I don't know how I ever made it thru SERE school with only a knife. ;)

I have a LifeStraw, to filter anything from ‘the wild’... unfortunately, water is hard to come by in many areas.

But, I haven’t had a need for it in NV thus far... nor do I care to drink my own urine.

So, you got thru SERE, with only a knife... imagine where you would be today, with all the ‘comforts of 44’!!

I must be getting old, something on your list just hit me, who would go camping in mother natures back yard and bring a DVD player?

Why not just stay home and save the gas??? Must be an Air Force thing. In 'Nam you guys had cold beer, we had to drink it hot. :)

I wondered whether anyone would notice... I don't leave home without it... But only carry the first four seasons of NYPD... sometimes, a Dan needs a little Andy Sipowicz, to make him see the world isn't truly screwed.

Chester goes to sleep as soon as it gets dark... I listen to audiobooks, but sometimes get bored and need a good quote to clear my head... Like this:

"Katie Sipowicz: He could use God's help now.
Andy: Short term he oughtta settle for getting his head out of his ass. "

.
.. and, to be clear, it's ok to be jealous of the Air Force. Not everyone can be royalty :p

I always rode my bike to work in Holland, past my Army friends morning formation... It was the only route to work... But, I always smiled and waved. They appreciated it!!

Ever wonder why I spend so much time alone with my dog/s?

My goodness Danny, I wouldn't want to be you, but I wouldn't mind camping with you! :hillbilly:

You’ve recently been to the desert, on a horse with no name... right Mark?

While camping alone, I tend to mull over the meaning of my life.

I’ve had a few epiphanies out there... kinda like a sweat lodge stuff... a vision quest... but, by the time I get back home, I’ve realized that my epiphanies are the stuff of idiocy.

I think Chester (and Gunner, before him) have been too kind to shatter my self image.

I think you are good pngunme--I love my Llewellin English Setter bird dog-- love my wife too but the dog won't make me do honey dos!

They only want to make you happy!! Heavy petting, kisses and a few jack rabbit chases go a long way!!
