This has to be the lowest tech question ever on this board, but how the $&*^$*# do I get the original equipment jack out of its holder? I'm not completely hopeless on these sort of things normally, but just can't get the thing out. There's nothing in the owner's manual about it either.

I hate to admit it, but that got me for a few minutes the first time I took it out too.
For others that may not know, you gotta lower the jack with the adjustment knob as it is extended to hold it tight in the holder.

LOL, that pissed me off when I tried the same thing on my 02 4Runner (I think it was that one).

Your lucky your '99 came with a jack. When I checked for a jack, mine didn't have one. I bought a bottle jack for $15 instead of the $250 the dealer wanted for Toyota one.
