Just finished installing a Isuzu 4BD1T in my FJ60 and thought I would post a few pics.I used the kit from Dustin with a Advance Adapters bell housing and a H55.
Turbo is a GT2259
I found the 90 Isuzu on craigslist, it was a city dept. salt spreader truck in really rough/rusted condition but it only had 55,000 miles on it and it runs great.
Thankyou to Longbow, Doug720, wheelingnoob, Dazed,Dougal for all the posts,Pics and info you guys put on here! It sure makes swapping a diesel go a lot smoother when you can see what others have done.
As you can see this is not a finished project, I still want to put a intercooler in that xtra space in front of the radiator.
and yes my turbo downpipe is close to the firewall- I am working on a heat shield although the exhaust wrap seems to be working well.
Brian
Sorry for the blurry pics

Looks good, will spot an oil leak in an instant! Did you make an adapter to position the turbo where it is? I like how you ran the turbo to airbox pipe, may need see if I can replicate it on mine.

How is it running? Did you move the engine and trans forward at all?

Edit: Could you also post some pictures of how you spaced the rad back?

Thanks,

nice install and plenty front mounted Intercooler space there .. !

where did you get that hose from air box to turbo .?

Yes the oil leaks do show up on that yellow!
I had to make a adapter for the turbo since the flange is the opposite direction but that was ok since I wanted to raise it also.
It runs great, I've only put about 500 miles on it so far but but got 22mpg first tank of fuel.
I used the stock crossmember but moved the trans mount holes to the right 2 inches and forward 2 inches, I wanted to go forward more but this way the shifters still fit in stock holes and it doesn't hit the diff. still a little close to the firewall but it works out ok.
I did kind of a quicky space back on the radiator since I don't have the intercooler yet and thought I might change that, I just cut the bottom mounts and added 4 inches to them and made some temp brkts for the top. I had to get it going for a test drive-HaHa!

Gotcha, keep this updated with progress. Interested to see the what you do for final rad mount and IC mounting. I'm trying to plan mine out along with about 20 other things at the moment

Mileage sounds right where all the other swaps have come in, I'm sure that first fill up put a smile on your face. I am really looking forward to seeing the needle moove a lot slower.

That's beautiful. Well done!

Are you running the stock Isuzu A/C compressor? If so, I would like to see some pictures of it mounted. Trying to figure out how mine goes back on. It was not on the engine when I bought it. Can't figure out how to tension it to set the tension on the belt.

Thanks , Ryan

Hey Ryan,I didn't have the stock compressor either and there isn't enough room for it in the stock location, so I bought a small Sanden that was easy to mount to the stock Brkt. And there is room for it but not for the side hose connections.

Sorry another blurry picture

You wouldn't happen to have a part number or a serial number on that compressor would you? Hate to ask but what does a new compressor cost? Looks GREAT !!!!!!!!!!

Look on rock auto at part # 57594 that's the same compressor I have in that pic but with rear hose fittings or if you think the side fittings will work let me know?

Strong work Camotubebender! It looks great! I'm extremely jealous of 22 mpg. Couldn't quite tell from your pics, but are you just running and OME lift? Heavy, medium? Doesn't appear to be SOA. I know a couple of the guys you gave props to above have stayed SUA. How satisfied are you with the oil pan clearance? I'm still having trouble committing to a diesel because I don't want to go SOA or even a 4" lift.

Thanks and yea 22 mpg is nice!
OME med. with shackle reversal rides and drives good and no problems with oil pan clearance.
No lift needed with a Toyota diesel?
