Hey guys,
Have my front axle torn down on my '77 FJ40 right now for a rebuild/clean up. My knuckles seemed really loose. Didn't use the fish scale, but I would guess 1-2 pounds for the preload. So, I figure I should use the tool to get the correct shims in there for the preload and center the knuckle.
I was wondering if anyone in the CA Bay Area would happen to have a centering tool they would be willing to let me rent or borrow? I'd rather not buy a tool that I will only probably use once, if I can avoid it.
Thanks!
