Didnt know about this bike rack. Looks great!

Ordered a 4 bike version about a week ago. Scott said it is taking them abt a month to ship new orders!

Barely two weeks later, I got the email! they are in transit and have long way to go:

Mine showed up a couple of days ago. This is seriously over-built!

I’ll post a Kuat rack for reference. I’m happy with the set up but doesn’t have the ground clearance like the iSi . Where do you ride in Ohio divemedic? Alum 2, Chestnut, Great Seal, Bailey’s?

I didn’t do much riding while in Ohio, to much of the family/work life. I’m in California now. Tons of riding!

The big deal for me with the iSi is that the bikes do not move at all relative to each other or to the rack. All other designs I have seen - hitch, roof, trunk door, etc, have some amount of play, which is especially bad when offroading, considering that nowadays 4 bikes can easily out-cost a modded 100 😭

Mine is up for sale, as I had to find a 5 bike rack:

What would a 5-bike rack look like? Sounds huge.

Btw, that Sienna looks overwhelmed by gravity...

5 bike rack is not ISI and not as sturdy. It carries bikes vertically.
And yes, that Sienna was overloaded with 5 ppl and their American size junk!

Looks like I never mentioned everybody's deepest horror - that one time when someone totaled his car in my loaded iSi bike rack 2 years ago.

Damage to the bikes in the end was only a cracked frame at the bottom bracket on the cyan Santa Cruz and that's it.

The carrier got twisted and the horizontal tubes got bent. I have since straightened the base and replaced the tubing with new ones. There was also a crack on the plastic rear bumper.
Insurance reluctantly paid for the bike frame and partially for the bike rack. The red car rear ended me while I was stopped at a round about.

The bike rack is extremely sturdy and I can't imagine any other system surviving with so little damage after such an impact.

Wow! Glad not much damage was done to your car and gear. Hopefully, no one was injured.

Did you have to get the bike rack and bikes inspected in addition to getting the car inspected after the wreck? I was wondering on what to do in such situations: take car to a repair shop obviously, but take bike rack to a rack installer, and bikes to a bike shop for repair quotes?
