I bought a metric set of taps and dies not long after I bought the truck. They’ve saved me countless times. Pretty much any time I take something apart I clean the threads and touch up with a little paint. For example, I broke two bolts when putting the lift on. One of the rear sway bar mount brackets and the bump stop on the driver’s side. In 10 minutes or less I drilled and tapped new holes.
