Similarities are they are they are both weak. Neither have an axle as thick as the Landcruisers and are C-clip also. In 18 years of wheeling the 12 bolt is the only axle that I have bent then tube came loose from the housing. In a different vehicle destroyed the posi. I would look at other choices. $.02
There are large and small diff housing 10 bolts, the twelve bolt is stronger, and both work great in someone elses application, and would not be found in anything that I pilot, or have anything to do with, as they are not worth the work swapping into something that has a better axle in it from the get go...
