I purchased a 1970 FJ40 a few months back that came from Colorado. It has decent tires on it, but they have steel studs in them for driving on ice. I'm in South Louisiana, and we don't have any ice. Ever. Oh, and studded tires are illegal here.

Is there anyway to remove these studs?

good set of side cutters you have to pull each one out .only other way is to do a long burnout and when tire gets hot they fly out and bounce off the car behind you good luck

I use a flat head screwdriver and pray them out.
I am taking them out of my tires next week or so. They are legal in the winter and soon I have to take them out.
The first few are little tricky to do, but once you get the hang of it ,it is a piece of cake.
I don't do much highway driving so , I will use them in the summer and get new winter tires for the next year.
