Is there a significance to using a green connector versus another type - melted connector needs replacing. (1 Viewer)

Hi all - I have a '76 40 with a weber 38/38 carb. The green connector for the water temp sender and wire to the carb melted. It looks like it was resting on the cooling union next to the water temp sensor. You can't tell from the photo but the green connector has a perfect indentation on the bottom that matches the union. My question is are the green connectors sealed? I have Yazaki white motorcycle connectors I can use to fix it but I don't think they are sealed.

If sealed is required does anyone know where to get the green replacement or other recommended sealed connector?

Many thanks.

Note there are locking and non locking connector bodies. Does anyone know why Toyota used the green or blue connectors in some cases vs. white? One reason I can think of is there may have been a couple, two or three terminal connectors in the same area and this prevented them from getting plugged in wrong during production.

I'd look at that screw used for capping the smog pump hole(s). The screws are touching exhaust, and could be a heat/abrasion problem for the wiring? There is a good OEM plug, a Jim C. option, and probably something available at the hardware store.
